Some 20 years after the initial establishment of the habitat inventory was updated in 2010 completely. The result is now available. On about a fifth of the land area in 1385 and individual habitats and 113 large space habitats about 300 different habitat types with many rare and endangered animal and plant species are distributed. The habitat descriptions are as a church reports available for download.

• What is a habitat?
• habitat is basically a generic term. A habitat must not a priori be particularly worthy of protection or at all. Also a garden as a habitat with cultivated and wild plants and a large Number of animals - popular and unpopular - either in soil or on plants. The framework for the assessment of vulnerability have given the relevant state laws. The inclusion of a habitat in the inventory does not mean that the area is protected from automatic. It is, however informal reservation land, in other words, to "signs" of great importance, not stop signs. In

habitat in this inventory, the site of a self-contained, more or less living community of plants and animals is understood. Classic example of a habitat would be about a pond, but it can just as a forest, a meadow, etc. are.

Häufig bilden einzelne Biotope in sich zusammenhängende Komplexe aus, wie etwa ein Quellmoor mit der Quelle als Einzelbiotop und den angrenzenden nassen "Quellsümpfen". Dann wird von Biotopkomplex gesprochen. Besonders Großtiere haben Biotop übergreifende Reviere, oder ganze Landschaftsteile bilden einen geschlossenen und vielfältigen Lebensraum von besonderer Schutzwürdigkeit (z.B. Kanisfluh). In diesem Fall wird von einem Großraumbiotop gesprochen.
